The workers are rude and the portions are beyond small. Horrible place. Don't waste your money.

The three stars that I would have given this place for the ice cream were, unfortunately, diminished to 1 by the horrible staff. I get that places like this are meant to be staffed by teenagers and give them an opportunity to gain work experience. But you have to actually train them and hold them to at least some kind of standard for it to work. With the exception of two girls, the entire staff was far more concerned with talking and laughing with each other than with actually doing their job. They acted like it was a major hassle that we were trying to purchase ice cream from them and I heard the F-word come out of at least one of their mouths with children in line ( It's an ICE CREAM SHOP! In what parallel universe is that kind of language ok in an ice cream shop?!) Anyway, in the event that management reads these reviews and wants to rectify the situation, it was Sunday May 24th at around 9 PM. I'd be happy to describe the two workers who were actually working since your employees don't wear name tags.

I went in yesterday to this location to enjoy some ice cream. I understand cold stone's can have pretty long lines so when I went in there I expected to wait. First of all there were about 5 people working there at the moment, there was a group of maybe 6 customers that were taking longer than usual to order their ice cream but when I looked at the staff they were literally making the process so much longer. First of all only one girl was there that was actually doing some work, the other 4 had ice cream utensils in their hands but they are just goofing and off and just fooling around with each other. We waited about 15 minutes while the group of customers in front of us ordered their ice cream (which was taking longer because the staff was not doing their job). When the customers were done ordering they just stood in front of the ice cream waiting around to pay (it was obvious they hadn't been to a cold stone before so they didn't know they had to move along to the cashier once they had ordered the ice cream), while they are just standing, blocking the ice cream, the staff is just talking to each other, not doing any work, and goofing around instead of telling the customers to move forward to the cash register. Finally the customers leave and I'm assuming we will finally get some help , but no. Literally we are standing in front of 3 of the staff members and not one has asked what we would like. They are still talking to each other and basically hanging out while we look at their face for help. At that point it had been over 20 minutes of waiting and I had enough so , I waved my hand very high and very loudly and sternly, said " HELLO!! CAN WE GET SOME HELP,WE HAVE BEEN WAITING." Finally they decided to pay us some attention and start doing their jobs. They seemed so surprised by my little outburst , which really proved that they were not paying any attention to us or how long we had been waiting. I understand, this is a cold stone, the staff working there are mostly high school students. I'm not expecting stellar service, I just wanted to be at least served and they did not even do that. Clearly they cannot be left alone at the cold stone and need a manager there at all times to make sure that they perform the job duties they were hired to perform. Horrible experience!

Give me 3 people. I don't even care if they have their high school diploma. Give me 20 minutes to train them and I GUARANTEE you we would be at least 3 times as fast as this half assed crew you have here. It's God awful. Act like you care. Hustle up. Mix some effing ice cream. Pitiful.

Coldstone ice cream is always a great treat and this location while it can have long lines it is worth the wait. Outside seating makes for a relaxing setting to enjoy your ice cream which you get pain or with toppings mixed in. You can choose from a wide selection of toppings or one of their signature creations that are really good. I have yet to try their shakes but I always go for the delicious ice cream in a cup with a spoon. I most recently tried the banana caramel crunch. If you haven't been you should check them out.

Slow service. Bad attitude. A bunch of high schoolers trying to earn a minimum wage for recreational purposes. The line was surprisingly 11 people long when there was 15 minutes left. I came on a Tuesday at 9:15. Unfortunately, management couldn't handle the load with her 6 team full of pimpled-covered, skin-clad, and mumbling "employees". They kept cleaning when they could have added the three people "cleaning" the store to help the line and maybe help them get home faster to get stoned. The only reason I gave two stars was because of the ice cream. Never again will I indulge this establishment.

Yum, is all I can say! This was my first time at cold stone and it was delicious! Joe was super helpful and very nice on suggestions. I couldn't even finish my funnel cake ice cream but it was So delicious and different! Will be returning again to try something different.

Cold Stones are for whatever reason harder and harder to find these days, as many franchise locations I believe have shut down due to (surprisingly) lack of demand. I think the whole "froyo" craze may have had a big impact on Cold Stone's business. But there is nothing like delicious, fresh ice cream and Cold Stone is where its at. You will hate yourself for coming here because it's probably not that healthy to eat on a regular basis but it's just so delicious and hard to resist. This location gets pretty busy during peak hours at night on weekends but it's always worth the wait.

Recently bought 2 $5 groupons redeemable for two "Love It" ice cream bowls each. I went to this Ellicott city location to order two bowls to celebrate my son's last day of school. The ice cream was delicious as always, although my sons bowl was made missing one of the ingredients. The thing that permanently soured me to this location, that is closest to my home, is the way the manager handled the groupon situation. When I approached the register to pay, I presented my coupon. I was initially told by the cashier that it needed to be printed! Why would a Groupon need to be printed in 2015‼ I asked for the manager. The manager then tells me that their location is franchised and does not accept Groupons. (This was a Coldstone groupon for the Baltimore area, which this location falls under) I explained to the manager that I only ordered these items because of the Groupon. The manager did not even offer condolences or any type of discount. So I spent more than $11 on the two bowls of ice cream in addition to the $10 in unusable Groupons. ($21 for 2 cups of ice cream) Since I have to find a location where I can actually use them, I DEFINITELY WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS LOCATION!

Best ice cream hands down. Every time we go there the line is to the door, but always worth the wait. It's a nice location and they have a few outdoor tables for a nice spring/summer night. Compared to other ice cream places, I feel the prices are pretty much on par. Not too expensive, but definitely worth it.

Stopped in here last night on a whim. The restaurant has a long line of small tables along the wall. The line was crowded for a late Sunday night but moved pretty fast. The workers were friendly and accommodating. We split a "Gotta Have It" (large) size ice cream. You're allowed to mix flavors in the same cup at no extra charge so we ordered pistachio, chocolate, and cake batter. The ice cream is rich and has a sticky quality. It has an endless amount of flavor, and I enjoyed every bite. It has a pretty fun atmosphere with music in the background, and the employees were having fun there. If you're not worried about calories and you want a treat, check out Cold Stone!

I love Cold Stone but this location is always busy. I finally got a chance to get ice cream at 9:30 pm on Wednesday. That is 30 mins before closing. I walked in and I wasn't greeted I just got told milkshakes are no longer available. I asked why and she was like because it's past 9:30. Um it's 9:30 on the dot lady serve the customer what they want. Just freaking lazy employees that can't just clean up after closing which you are suppose to do. Besides that only one person was taking orders, two people were cleaning and one just stood by to check out. I felt sorry for the one girl who actually cared about her job taking all the orders. I wanted a waffle cone bowl. I almost didn't get it because they were throwing them out 30 mins before closing. I was going to make them make me one for their stupidity of not waiting until closing. The customer service is awful! I would go to another location don't waste your time with these inadequate employees. I will be calling the higher ups because I've never been more disappointed in a Cold Stone location.

I finally ended my craving of butter pecan and coffee ice cream mixed with caramel and roasted almond for the crunch. They have ice cream cake too.

Good ice cream but they don't have high chairs there. What kind of ice cream shop doesn't have at least 1 high chair?

I can't believe no one has reviewed this location yet, it's always packed! Perfect after dinner treat for the fam. Would give them 5 stars but the service from lazy teens can get a little iffy, hence the long lines. The key is to be patient and remember the ice cream is worth the wait. I can't eat this ice cream every day because it's so rich (and horrible for my thighs lol), also the prices aren't cheap. But IMO you get what you pay for - this ice cream is so good! You can opt for just a plain, no frills scoop or get super creative and mix-in your favorites. They don't play around here, they taking their "mixing" very serious! Choose from fruit, nuts, choco chips, candies, sprinkles, marshmallows, cake, brownies, etc. Or you can save yourself the confusion and pick from one of their signature creations like my fav, Coffee Lover's Only. Their milkshakes are also incredible. I'm craving Cold Stone just writing this review... so I guess that's where I'm heading this evening.
